There is an ongoing investigation into an industrial accident that claimed the life of a South Georgia man over the weekend.
A Packaging Corp. of America mill located in Lowndes County was the site of the jammed conveyer belt which caused the accident. According to Lowndes County Sheriff Ashley Paulk, the conveyer belt pulled worker Tyler Seacrist into industrial equipment upon restart.
Both Lowndes County Coroner Austin Fiveash and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration have open investigations about the incident.
Packaging Corp. of America, the Chicago-based company that owns the plant, has yet to release a statement on the accident.
Bader Scott Injury Lawyers sends their condolences to the Seacrist family and wants to remind all of Georgia about the severity of workplace accidents.
